The Process: Each performer creates a composition in response to a drone created by prepared turntables. The individually recorded compositions are cut up, arranged, processed, and reconstructed to form a new work.
The Result: The electro-acoustic tracks combine concert music and sound art with lo-fi drones, making categorization irrelevant.
Jérôme Descamps, trombone – Descamps performs with free jazz and contemporary music ensembles and was a member of A.R.F.I. in Lyon. Today, he is a professor of Trombone in Tahiti, French Polynesia.
Victoria Jordanova, harp – Victoria Jordanova is a composer, harpist, and multi-media artist. A leading harpist in new music, Jordanova is known for her “…singularity of vision” [New Music Box].
Peter Vukmirovic Stevens, piano – is the ensemble’s founder and principal arranger. Stevens’ illustrative music covers an extensive palette of sensibilities from concert music to sound art.
Strotter Inst., prepared turntables – has forged a unique path between art and music. Strotter performs on prepared turntables using cut-up vinyl and objects to create performances that are both concert and installation.
